Burna Boy Halts Denver Concert to Tell Fan: “Take Your Sleeping Girlfriend Home”

Grammy-winning Afro-fusion superstar Burna Boy brought his sold-out I Told Them… World Tour to Ball Arena last night, but it was an unscripted moment of crowd control that stole the show.

Midway through his electrifying performance of the hit single “Ye,” the self-proclaimed “African Giant” abruptly stopped the music, grabbed the microphone, and addressed a fan in the front row whose girlfriend had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

With the arena lights trained on the couple, Burna Boy said:

“Yo, my guy in the blue shirt – yes, you. Your girl is sleeping. Take her home, man. This is not a hotel. Wake her up or carry her out. We’re here to vibe, not to snore.”

The crowd erupted in laughter and cheers as the embarrassed boyfriend attempted to rouse his partner. After a brief pause, Burna Boy resumed the track with renewed energy, turning the viral moment into an impromptu sing-along.

The incident quickly trended worldwide under #TakeHerHome, with fans praising Burna Boy’s no-nonsense stage presence and humor. Clips from the show have already amassed over 10 million views across TikTok and X.

Burna Boy’s I Told Them… World Tour continues across North America, with upcoming stops in Los Angeles, Toronto, and Atlanta. The Denver show marked the 48th date of the global trek, which has grossed over $75 million to date.
