Rising Amapiano star Zandile Nxumalo, popularly known as Zee Nxumalo, has capped off a groundbreaking 2025 with multiple chart-topping hits, sold-out performances, and international recognition, solidifying her position as one of Africa’s most promising voices in the global Amapiano movement.
Speaking from Lagos ahead of her headline set at Entertainment Week Africa 2025, the 24-year-old artist reflected on a year that saw her evolve from underground favorite to continental icon.
“This year has been a dream I’m still waking up from,” said Nxumalo. “From packing out venues in Johannesburg and Accra to seeing my music played in clubs in London and Dubai — it’s proof that Amapiano is more than a genre; it’s a movement. I’m honored to carry the flag.”
2025 Highlights:

Looking Ahead: 2026 Vision
Nxumalo revealed plans for her debut album, “Umoya Wami” (My Spirit), set for release in Q2 2026. The project will blend traditional Zulu harmonies with futuristic log drum patterns and feature collaborations with both African giants and international producers.
“I want this album to feel like a journey — from the streets of Umlazi to the world,” she shared. “We’re cooking something timeless.”
She also confirmed a 12-city world tour kicking off in Cape Town in May 2026, with stops in Lagos, London, Amsterdam, and New York.
Message to Fans:
“To every dancer, DJ, and dreamer who’s supported me — thank you. 2025 was our warm-up. 2026? We take over.”
