The ‘5ive Tour’ marks Davido’s explosive return to Nigerian soil following his sold-out North American leg, celebrating his fifth studio album 5IVE – a culturally fluid masterpiece blending high-energy Afrobeats with R&B, Reggaeton, and Dancehall. Featuring powerhouse collaborations with artists like Musa Keys, Becky G, Omah Lay, Odumodublvck, Shenseea, Tayc, Dadju, and YG Marley, the album has already amassed millions of streams and solidified Davido’s status as the undisputed King of Afrobeats. The Ibadan show, expected to draw over 20,000 fans to the electrifying venue, promises an unforgettable night of rhythm, resilience, and unbridled energy.
“In line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and creative industry support, we are excited to announce that thousands of free tickets have been approved for young people across Oyo State to attend Davido’s ‘5ive Tour’ in Ibadan,” stated the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development (OAYD) in an official release. Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the event is more than a concert—it’s a catalyst for inspiration, offering young talents a front-row seat to excellence and networking opportunities that could spark lifelong careers.
Ticket distribution kicks off today, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis at the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, located within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Secretariat in Ibadan. Eligible youths aged 18-35 are encouraged to visit with valid ID to secure their complimentary passes. “This is our way of investing in the dreams of Oyo’s youth,” added an OAYD spokesperson. “Governor Makinde’s leadership continues to inspire progress by nurturing entertainment and the creative space, giving our young people global visibility and the tools to thrive.”
Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, expressed his gratitude on social media, calling the Nigerian leg of the tour “special” after his triumphant international run. “Bringing the 5ive vibes home—let’s make history in Ibadan! Grateful for the love and support from Oyo State,” he posted, alongside a teaser clip of his hit “Offa Me” featuring Victoria Monét. The tour has already electrified cities like Uyo (October 26), Yola (October 29), and Enugu (November 1), with the grand finale set for Lagos on December 25, 2025.
This government-backed gesture not only amplifies Oyo State’s role as a hub for cultural innovation but also aligns with broader national efforts to harness the economic power of Afrobeats, an industry projected to contribute over $4.5 billion to Nigeria’s GDP by 2026. Fans and aspiring artists alike are buzzing with excitement, with social media ablaze under #OyoMeets5ive.
